Upcoming concerts of Tolkien inspired music by Martin Romberg

Just in time for your holiday travels:

Eldarinwë Líri at the Vestfold International Festival, Norway

Eldarinwë Líri, or “elven songs”, is a song cycle based upon the elvish poetry of J.R.R. Tolkien. This work for girls‹ choir, the distinguished medieval singer group “Trio Mediæval” and two classical harps, was commissioned by the Vestfold International Festival 2010. It will be performed at the festival on 5th of June 2010 in the Tønsberg main church, Southern Norway. The composition lasts around 20 minutes. Performance of Quendi in Montpellier, France

The symphonic poem Quendi, commissioned in 2008 and based on the mythic tale of J.R.R. Tolkien, will be performed by the l’orchestre national de Montpellier in the Opéra Berlioz/LeCorum on the 18th and 19th of June 2010. The concert will take place in the series “concerts for the family“. More information about the performances can be found here.
